Gloranthan songs: Land of my Fathers

That's right, the Welsh national anthem. Translated by J. Owen, and with a couple of proper names changed and references to the sea removed. Fits Sartar much better than it fits modern Wales.

The land of my fathers is dear unto me
The land of the poets, the land of the free
Her patriots, brave heroes, her warriors well led
For freedom their life's blood have shed

(chorus)
Sar-tar, pledged am I to thee
And while the air
Blows thro' valleys so fair
So long may our Stormtongue live on.

Dear mountainous Sartar, the bard's paradise
Thy mountains and valleys are fair to my eyes
The sound of thy rivers as downhill they flow
With love set my fond heart a-glow.
