Eager to get underway the group acquired their vessels as previously discussed, collected together their possessions and supplies, and set out on the River shortly thereafter. By the end of the day they had travelled downstream about half-way to a place called Illynome.
The next day they continued on and reached the New Bog. Perhaps due to the time of year and the myriad intricate waterways here they somehow lost the main channel. Try as they might they remained lost in the Bog for three full days before finally emerging near Stablefort in Sun County.

No sooner had they left the Sun County portion of the River when storms began to blow in from the east. The driving winds pelted everything in its path with hail and tiny specks of sand. So unpleasant was the effect that the group was forced to stop and wait out the storm. This took two full days.
Temperatures plummeted the next day and they had barely reached North Bog when it grew too cold to continue. The group spent a miserable night shivering in the utter darkness around them with only their small fire to ward off the cold and light the night.
When they awoke the next day the River was crusted with a thin veneer of ice. Travel on the river was impossible so long as the ice was present. The cold snap continued for ten days before the ice finally gave way enough for the group to continue.
With reserves of food running low the group was forced to spend the first day hunting in the vicinity but eventually they were able to continue southward somewhat. Nonetheless it still took them another five days to reach Corflu. Weary from the bitter cold of the upland regions their joy at reaching the delta was short-lived. Though warmer the air was considerably more humid there and felt much colder than it had at higher altitudes. It was a grim group of adventurers who stiffy climbed out of their vessel at the docks of Corflu...
