Feroda campaign: events so far

Session Sunday 11th March: Corflu, again.

(Varjeela and Nijehl present, Huff joined later)

Varjeela>  We were deciding who was going to Corflu?

Dave Black> The last I recall the group had made camp and there was discussion of Mawth checking out this Lunar fellow to make sure he wasn't afflicted with Soul Waste or any such thing

Varjeela> Yep. Camped at Skull Rock.

NIJEHL> Yes, I think he already checked, and we were getting ready to go back to Corflu, at least half of us.

Dave Black> Not exactly. Skull Rock is way off to the south. The camp
was where the expedition to Skull Rock went out from and where the return
to Corflu was launched from. Current camp is due north of
Skull Rock approximately 6 hours journey by land.

Varjeela> Oh. OK. So we're all at the camp, anyway. Has Saravan/Mawth done any checking?

Dave Black> Mawth hadn't actually checked yet but the camp was put together in the evening so once it is established Mawth takes a few moments to check out the fellow. Mawth reports that there doesn't seem to be any Spiritual malaise. The individual has a very low Power level though which he will note.

Varjeela> Fine. Thanks, Mawth. So we're back to the question of who's going to Corflu.  The obvious answer being: anyone who's a PC at present, plus anyone who's about to join in.  Then add someone to paddle the boat.

NIJEHL> Yep.  I guess so.... and someone who can talk to the river folk... who was he?  Mawth or Joss?

Dave Black> OK. Joss will paddle the boat. Both can speak to Riverfolk fluently

Varjeela> Are we giving up on Saravan joining in? So Mawth stays here?

Dave Black> I think so. No sign of life from Australia.

Varjeela> And Huff had better come, so that if Russell shows up he has something to do :)

Dave Black> OK. So the night passes uneventfully and morning dawns upon the flatlands of the delta.

Varjeela> We take the larger boat and most (all) of the trade goods, and
paddle off.

Dave Black> As usual it is overcast and there are occasional showers. To the north, in the distance, the blue skies of Prax are visble.

Varjeela> Splosh... splosh... there yet?

Dave Black> The temperature will be typical rising perhaps to 10 degress celsius (in our terms)

Varjeela> (Come back Praxian weather, all is forgiven) . Another day of practising Boatspeech and Trade?

Dave Black> Progress is very good (the group having travelled the route several times now) and by nightfall the town of Corflu looms ahead and the wharf at the north end of town where you had always docked was  before you

NIJEHL> Shall we head for the inn we stayed at last time?

Varjeela> So Joss directs docking procedures. And can he ensure safe storage for our goods? (Let's make sure we're secure before running to the inn!)

Dave Black> Being familiar now with the populace Joss finds someone and negotiates a suitable stipend for protecting the vessel and its contents.

Varjeela> Thanks, Joss. Right: the inn! Food, warmth....

Dave Black> As nightfall descends upon the land the group enters the Inn and renews its acquaintance with the tall ugly innkeeper.  A warm fire crackles in the stone hearth.

Varjeela> Sounds good! BTW, what day is it? Is there a market tomorrow?

NIJEHL> Great...ehemmm... who will pay? (don't
have any money on me :)  )

Varjeela> Guess? (I take it after all Dave's sums, I do still have some money on me?)

Dave Black> It is Ancestor's Day in the local Calendar. (49th Day of Dark Season for those from away)  According to my records you should have some money left Nijehl. I'll recalculate afterward but rest assured that between the Group members there is sufficient coin around to retaain a room  for each.

NIJEHL> Thanks Varjeela...  Praise the  generosity of the Issaries priestesses!!! Ok thanks dave... rememeber I sued most of my money for that thing last time I was here.

Varjeela> And a meal, and drinks.

Dave Black> Right to both.  The trip will have taken a lot out of everyone and so a quick meal, a little leisure, and then everyone will certainly
begin to feel quite fatigued I would think...

Varjeela> Is there anyone in the bar who it might be useful to chat to over drinks and so on? If so, do so. If not, take GM hint and get some sleep.

Dave Black> There are quite a few people around. I will provide a synopsis of the chatter and such you can hear going on in a separate email.

Varjeela> OK. Nothing directly relevant, then?

Dave Black> I'd like to spend some time on this is what I'm saying. There may be some things that are useful to the group and others that aren't but I don't want to treat it lightly.

Varjeela> Fine. And I've just looked up the "real" calendar: so it's Godday tomorrow? Wasn't that the day with  no market?
Dave Black> I think you are right Jane

** HUFFHUFF just joined "Lost Feroda RQ Adventure" (4 members now) **
 HUFFHUFF> hey there

Varjeela> You made it: well done!  We're in the inn, in Corflu. Have a drink.

Dave Black> Hi Russell. It helps to have the Group Access Code doesn't it?!

NIJEHL> Hi Russell... or Huff...

HUFFHUFF> sure does dave

Dave Black> The group has just travelled by boat all the way from their base camp in the swamps. Its now evening and they have had a bite to eat at the local inn and are enjoying a bit of relaxation.  They are all pretty tired but the question of rumours and interesting tidbits has been
raised.  There will be a subsequent email from me on this topic...

Varjeela>  The interesting tidbits are probably fish, around here. But we're hungry :)

HUFFHUFF> <is looking through his pouches for anything he can trade for food>

Varjeela> (Since Huff, if not his player, arrived with the rest of us, he already has a meal in front of him, and a tankard, and has had a room paid for).

NIJEHL> Waiting for his fish and beer!! Ok..that's better:)

HUFFHUFF> <is noisily and rapidly making his way through the food and drink>

Dave Black> Most of the people in the tavern are local dock workers and such. They are talking about their work mainly. As you listen you get the impression that they are somewhat baffled by the sudden increase in the amount of shipping.

NIJEHL> What about lunar soldiers off duty?  Where do they usually end up?

Dave Black> There are none there at present

Varjeela> Shipping from any particular source? of any particulat type?

Dave Black> You get the impression that it is thought to be trade goods or supplies or something.

Varjeela> Or do you want to postpone that till the email? We're due to stop about ten minutes ago, anyway.

Dave Black> Perhaps emails will do the job better. That way there can be some interaction over the course of the week.

(Discussion of times to start and time zones snipped)

Dave Black> No sign of John.

Varjeela> So you'll have to keep doing his accent for him :) At present no doubt he's got his mouth full of food and beer.  (Russell: read back through the logs and you'll see what I mean about Joss's accent.)

Dave Black> Don't you find it odd that when John isn't here his Character suddenly forgets how to talk?

HUFFHUFF> yeah i have been reading the logs

Dave Black> Brutal (his accent I mean) isn't it!

Varjeela> Wonderful stuff: I wish I could write accents like that! Presumably when John isn't here you're
getting his speech as "translated" by Varjeela. She can do it: I can't!
